*bangs head into wall*

Postby Bitweasil » Fri Nov 18, 2011 4:32 pm

My storage server just killed a few hard drives :(

So much for a stable distributed gen box... :-/

And it killed a two-week-long merging process.

Seriously, how does anyone do large storage arrays inexpensively? I can't find a way!

Ok. Good news. Drives are ok, just lost connection in the chassis.

New bits on order that should be more stable.

Yes, this does mean distributed gen is coming. :)

I honestly don't think there is a way to do large storage arrays inexpensively. I will be investing a few thousand dollars on a new RAID unit, on top of that the HDDs won't be cheap either.

So it's going to be an expensive investment.
