Cryptohaze.com

Overview

Cryptohaze is a home of high performance, US-based cross-platform GPU accelerated password auditing tools for security professionals. Currently, many security professionals are at a serious disadvantage in auditing as they cannot submit hashes to online hash databases due to the terms of their auditing agreement. Cryptohaze tools are aimed at providing high quality tools that run on any platform - Windows, Linux, or OS X. Many of the tools available only exist for Windows, which leaves Mac or Linux using security professionals lacking. As many of the other auditing tools are available for Linux, this is the primary platform we target - but we like everyone!

Compatibility

Right now, the Cryptohaze tools require nVidia based graphics cards - they are written using CUDA, and do not work on anything else. Any modern nVidia card (8000 series, 9000 series, GTX200 series, GTX400 series) supports CUDA, though as these tools are pushing the boundaries of what is feasible, they are developed on GTX200 series cards. Sadly, many laptops have very slow GPUs and while the tools will work, they may not be very fast on laptops. However, we are always looking for ways to improve performance, and especially performance on the laptops many auditors use!

Tools Overview

Cryptohaze Multiforcer

The Cryptohaze Multiforcer is a high performance MD4/MD5/NTLM/SHA1 cracker that is designed to target large lists of hashes. Performance holds very solid with large lists, such that on a suitable server, cracking a list of 1 000 000 passwords is not significantly slower than cracking a list of 10. For anyone who deals with large lists of passwords, this is a very useful tool!

Cryptohaze GPU Rainbow Tables

There has been very little development in the promising Rainbow Table technology over the past several years. FreeRainbowTables as a project is dead or dying, and while there exist GPU tools for the stock RainbowCrack implementation, they are very limited, and not very flexible. Cryptohaze GPU Rainbow table are a totally fresh implementation of rainbow tables, leveraging the strengths of the nVidia GPUs to allow for much larger table spaces and coverage. While the stock RainbowCrack tables use chain lengths of 10 000, the Cryptohaze tables use a chain length of 200 000. This allows much larger attack spaces - MD5 tables for full US charset (95 characters) length 7 are available, and other tables will become available as they are created. While doing this, cracking times on a high performance server remain very reasonable - in some cases, under 2 minutes per password!

Donate

Why should you donate?

If you find the tools useful, donations would be very much appreciated. I am very interested in leveraging the latest and greatest hardware for maximum performance, but keeping up with top of the line, just-released hardware is very expensive. Of particular interest to me are the GTX470/480 GPUs, and ATI's offerings - I do not currently offer any ATI tools because I do not have any ATI cards to test on. If you make money using these tools in audits, I would greatly appreciate a bit to cover my hardware costs!
